The weather is finally cooling off but the entertainment is still hot! There is lots to do in October in our area.

Starting Tuesday, September 29 and running through Sunday, October 4, Chorus Line will be at Belk Theater in Charlotte at various times. Also, on the theater front don't miss Return to the Forbidden Planet at the Old Courthouse Theatre in Concord. Shows are at various times October 1-11.

The middle of the month is every race lover's dream with multiple events taking place at Lowe's Motor Speedway from October 14-17.

On Saturday, October 24 choose from Dogs Day Out Pet Festival in Concord's Les Myers Park or the 26th annual Barbecue Festival in Lexington, NC.

The end of the month brings out the ghosts and goblins with Halloween on a Saturday this year. Trick or Treat.

The Olde Countrie Faire is an important tradition at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Concord, NC.  Held every other year, the Faire is all about reaching out to the people in our community.  People donate items that are then sold at affordable prices.  The proceeds are then returned to the community through various organizations such as CCM, Habitat for Humanity and the Community Free Clinic as well as International missions. This year's event will be held September 12, 2009 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The Olde Countrie Faire will feature a luncheon, baked goods, books and records, tapes and CDs, flea market, barbecue, clothing, jewelry, crafts, a cash raffle, a bounce house, lighting and home furnishings from Carolina Rustica as well as both live and silent auctions. There will be something for everyone. All Saints' Episcopal Church is located at 525 Lake Concord Road.
