Are you having trouble controlling your energy bill during the hot summer months and cold winter months? You’re not alone! Here are some tips to help you conserve some energy:

 

  1. Make sure all lights are turned off when a room is not in use.
  2. Set your thermostat to 68 in the winter and 72 in the summer.
  3. Lower your hot water heater temperature to low or 120 degrees.
  4. Wash clothes in cold water.
  5. Air dry your clothes when possible.

With the long days and sunny weather, summer is often the time for many home improvement projects. Follow the tips below to stay safe while you are working around the house.

  • Remove large sticks or debris from the yard before mowing.
  • Always wear appropriate clothing, such as closed-toe shoes and safety goggles.
  • Always place ladders on level ground with locks fully engaged.
  • Do not stand stand higher on a ladder than is recommended.
  • Disconnect tools when not in use or when replacing blades or bits.
  • Work in well lighted areas and wearing gloves.
